Matt Martin's responsibilities include leadership of the Charlotte branch, as well as Community Development, Economic Education and Financial Institution Outreach across the Carolinas, Virginia, DC, Maryland and parts of West Virginia. He joined the Charlotte Branch as regional economist in 2006.

Prior to joining the Bank, Matt worked as an economist for Moody's Economy.com. Other professional experience includes analyst with the Congressional Budget Office and faculty member at Kent State University where he taught courses in macroeconomics, money and banking, and economic history.

Matt's community involvement includes service on the boards of North Carolina Council on Economic Education, South Carolina Economics and the Advisory Board for the Belk School of Business, University of North Carolina Charlotte. He also serves on the boards of Community Link and Veterans Bridge Home.

A Pennsylvania native, Matt earned a B.S. degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and after military service, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Delaware.
