SUMMARY:VOLUNTEER - Meck County Park Beautification
DESCRIPTION:Plan to begin at 8:30am\, building in time at the beginning for introductions and talking about our “Why” for these events; and We will take time from about 11:30-12:00 for intentional connections between the organizations sending Volunteers (representatives) and veterans in transition who are seeking employment. Either or both of these engagement periods will include information about employment with Park & Recreation and/or other County/City Departments (ex. Storm Water Services\, etc.) \nWhat to bring/wear: \n\nWear long pants and long sleeves\, for protection from scratches and/or poison ivy.\nWear sturdy\, closed-toe shoes – REQUIRED\, NO sandals or flip-flops. Wear OLDER shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty\, wet or muddy.\nWear heavy-duty work gloves – bring your own gloves if you have them. Some will be supplied.\nWear a hat and sunscreen for protection from sun exposure; and bring your own preferred mosquito/insect repellant.\nBring your own water in a large\, refillable water bottle; to stay hydrated\, avoid the need to refill\, and to protect the environment from single-use plastic bottles.\n\nProjects vary according to the needs in the parks. \nIf you’re interested in volunteering\, click here.
