AARON HARPER

VP of Employment
Aaron Harper joined Veterans Bridge Home in April 2022. Prior to coming to Veterans Bridge Home, Aaron worked for Atrium Health where he led their enterprise's military and veterans' affairs strategy in addition to serving as a Human Resources Strategic Business Partner and Diversity & Inclusion Program Manager. Prior to Atrium Health, he worked as a Senior Business Analyst and Administrative Manager at Duke Energy Corporation. Both Atrium Health and Duke Energy are recipients of the Department of Defense's ESGR Freedom Award as a result of Harper's contributions and leadership of their military-veteran programs.

Aaron served in the United States Marines Corps as an Air Traffic Controller for more than 5 years before being medically retired as a Sergeant. He deployed to Suadi Arabia and Kuwait for Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Cease Fire, and Provide Comfort.

Harper is a 2022 Charlotte Hornets' Yellow Ribbon Program Award recipient. He also received two DoD Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Above and Beyond Awards. In 2018, he and his wife (NCARNG COL Michele Harper) were named Veterans Bridge Home's 1st Veterans of the Year.

Aaron received a dual BS in Math & Science Education from NC State University, an Executive MBA from the McColl School of Business at Queens University, is an American Hospital Association Certified Diversity Manager, and very recently obtained his SHRM Senior Certified Professional and Certificate in Dynamic Work Design from MIT.
