Dear friends,

In past years, Veterans Day has been commemorated in multiple, small events throughout the region. This year the pandemic and its accompanying prohibition on large, in-person events has presented our region with an opportunity. This year we have the chance to unite for a one-of-a-kind, community-wide, Carolinas' Veterans Day Celebration. We invite you to join us on November, 11th at 4:30 p.m. for a special virtual celebration with Medal of Honor Recipient David Bellavia, SSG Ret. This is a chance to hear his heroic story, celebrate our Veterans, and give to Veterans Bridge Home.

Additional information on event registration, our guest speaker, and ways you can help celebrate Veterans Day are all detailed below.

POST YOUR PICTURES ON SOCIAL MEDIA

1. CHOOSE SOCIAL CHANNELS FOR THE CAMPAIGN

To pick the right channels, consider these questions:

  • Which channel do you have the most followers?
  • Which platform are you most comfortable with?
  • 2. USE A PHOTO FRAME

Choose a frame for your photo. VBH is creating Veterans Day social media frame with a Happy Veterans Day message on them. Frames will be available on October 11. To add a frame on Facebook, go to www.facebook.com/profilepicframes/?selected_overlay_id=364554204736184, type "VBH Veterans Day" in the search for themes bar near the middle of the page, and then in the "Choose a Frame" search window to the left, type "VBH" and all available frames will appear. The frame will go around your Facebook profile image.

    3. SHARE A PHOTO OF YOURSELF IN UNIFORM

  • If you don't want to use a frame but do want to share a photo from your military service that is great too.
  • It's also an inspirational way for others to feel involved and want to be a part of the community.
  • Tag VBH! That way we can share your post as well.
  • VETERANS DAY VIDEO

Short videos on social media are a great way to recognize Veterans Day. It is also an engaging way to send a message to your friends, family members, or work colleagues who served.

From October 12th - November 11th, we are encouraging you to record a :10-:15 second video celebrating Veterans Day. Anyone can participate.

Please remember: iPhone videos are ok, record them in landscape ONLY.
