Employment Navigator

Location is at our HQ in Charlotte, NC

OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Veteran Employment, the Employment Navigator will have responsibility for aligning the strengths and priorities of employer's, job seeking Veterans, spouses, and NCServes employment providers in support of the community network directors and care coordinators. The Employment Navigator will accomplish this by shaping relationships, engagement between employers and candidates, and direct execution of Veteran and spouse employment opportunities. The Employment Navigator will support the employment team and partner closely with all members of VBH to focus on employment outcomes.

Operating in a matrixed collaborative environment, the Employment Navigator will partner closely with both employment partners and non-profit employment provider partners. The Employment Navigator will increase employer relationships and non-profit employment provider partners' impact. The Employment Navigator will support the Collective Impact approach to address the complexity of Veteran employment challenges. The Employment Navigator will do this by supporting the five (5) conditions necessary for Collective Impact success;


1) Support a common agenda,
2) Ensure continuous, thoughtful, and thorough communications,
3) Facilitate mutually reinforcing activities,
4) Establish shared measurement, and
5) Grow a sustainable and strong backbone through key partnerships.


This position will identify and build systems and partnerships that bring together Veterans and military spouses with in-demand skills with Veteran ready employers and other key public, private, and non-profit partners to lead to improved economic opportunities. The end state will be a Veteran and Military focused workforce training system, consisting of multiple sectoral partnerships focused on the key companies across resilient industries.

Care Navigator

Location is at our HQ in Charlotte, NC

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Navigator Manager for daily operations, the Care Navigator (CN) works with the Community Engagement Team, the Care Intervention Team, and community collaboratives to identify SMVF (Service Member, Veterans, and Families) at risk for suicide or premature death. Care Navigators have an advanced understanding of service pathways corresponding to key Social Determinants of Health (Healthcare, Housing, Employment, Benefits, Social Enrichment, and Education) within a particular geography inclusive of rural counties and urban centers. The CN functions to strengthen community care teams using a whole health lens and skills to identify at risk clients engaged in the NCServes network through consultation with VBH staff and Community Care Providers. CN will monitor at risk client using Unite Us technology and other data bases and provide routine follow-up with clients and providers to promote initial and ongoing engagement with available community services.
