Dear Veterans Bridge Home Friends and supporters,

I wanted to share some great news with you. In November 2019, Blake traveled to DC to participate on two round tables with the House and Senate Veterans' Affairs Committees to offer our perspective about how the VA could partner with local "hub organizations" (like Veterans Bridge Home) to help deliver better services to Veterans and curb Veteran suicide.

Blake was invited back to formally testify before the House Veterans' Affairs Committee yesterday. Four organizations were invited to testify, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, AMVETS, and Veterans Bridge Home. We were the only hub organization in the country invited. Attached is Blake's written testimony if you would like to read the long version as well as the most recent version of the compromise between the two parties on the committee. It is a work in progress, but between last week and yesterday, there was significant progress made to come to a final version that everyone could agree on. Thanks to you, our community has become the example to the rest of the country on how communities should support their Veterans and military families. Today wouldn't have been possible without your efforts and steadfast support.

A few other highlights:

  • 2:48:00 - 2:54:00 Rep. Lamb(PA) and Blake have a discussion about the similarities between PAServes and our market re: services, providers, and local relationships.
