Dana A. Draa joins Veterans Bridge Home after serving 3 years as Metrolina Association for the Blind's Chief Program Officer, and 11 years as Visual Impairment Services Team (VIST) Coordinator for the Department of Veterans Affairs- Health Administration in Charlotte. Prior to her tenure with the VA, Dana was an assistive technology consultant for Division of Services for the Blind.

Dana has a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from University of Arkansas in Little Rock and Master of Arts in Counseling with a focus on Orientation and Mobility for the Blind from Western Michigan University. Dana is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS), a Certified Adaptive Sports Specialist (CARSS), has a certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP),  a Certified Veterans Yoga Project Teacher (CVYPT),and is currently studying to be a Certified Meditation Instructor (C.MI).

Ms. Draa served 4 years active duty and 3 years active reserves in the United States Navy and 3 years in the Alaska Army National Guard. She is a Veteran of Desert Storm/ Desert Shield.

In addition to her professional duties, Ms. Draa is a former Chapter Coordinator for Team River Runner, a former Captain for Veterans Bridge Home, and formerly on the board of Peace of Adventure, Veterans Transport Services and Hook Line and Heroes. Ms. Draa is currently an Ambassador for Veterans Yoga Project and is very active in the Charlotte Veteran Community.
