Shakira Woodberry

Shakira Woodberry is a native Charlottean. Eight months after graduating from high school, she joined the Army. Longest and first duty station was in Bad Krueznach, Germany aka BK. She was there almost four years. In that time, she occupied several positions including but not limited to mail clerk, armorer, duty driver, supply clerk, and special duties. She was deployed from Germany to Bosnia and after her tour oversees, served in San Antonio, Texas at Fort Sam Houston Army base.

After 8 years of service, she settled in Atlanta, Georgia and eventually moved back to Charlotte where she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is passionate about all things related to veterans and has maintained a Facebook Veterans group for almost 10 years.
