Tyeasha "Ty" VanBuren

Communications Coordinator
Tyeasha "Ty" VanBuren joined our team as the Community Communications Coordinator in August 2022 although she is no stranger to the VBH team having previously served as a volunteer Captain for the previous three years.

A Marine Corps Veteran, Ty served as a flute and piccolo player with the 2nd Marine Division Band. After leaving the Marines, Ty spent several years working in federal government logistics and administration in Cherry Point NC, the Navy Yard and the Executive Office of the Secretary of State in Washington DC. After leaving the federal government, Ty began to focus on holistic fitness/wellness and advocacy for female Veterans. While looking through social media, Ty accidently stumbled upon the shocking statistics of homeless female Veterans that began her journey as a dedicated veteran advocate. In 2018, Ty was a top 25 finalist of the Ms. Veteran America (MVA) competition where she advocated for the elimination of female veteran homelessness.

Ty is also the host and producer to several award-winning podcasts, certified holistic wellness practitioner and nationally-renowned fitness professional with a focus and heart to entertain, educate and inspire the world around her. When not working on something creative, you can find Ty with her mini-me affectionately known in the community as "Mini T".

Tyeasha is a native South Carolinian and earned a B.S. in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University and is completing an A.S. in Marketing at Strayer University.
